John grew up in the DFW metroplex learning construction from his dad building his personal barns and cabins and working in the family hardware store business. After graduating from Texas A&M University, John wanted to use his leadership and management skills in construction as a career.  John at the age of twenty-six started the first branch office for SpawMaxwell which brought him to Austin.  There he grew the office and became a partner and eventually moved out on his own to start Sabre Commercial in 2008.  After growing the highly respected and successful central Texas commercial general contracting company to 73 employees and two offices, John sold his majority ownership to his partners in early March of 2020.  Through Someday Strategies, John has worked the last few years as an owner’s representative on a number of projects from hotels to hangars to consulting a new branch office for Forney Construction out of Houston.
